These control points can be used to re-dimension selections by using the mouse node edit tool to click on the control point (or node), and then moving or adjusting the position of the point.
Measuring Tools:
The Draw Control points for measuring tools check boxes will place
little square boxes or control points on lines or curves drawn with the Line Measure or Curve
Measure tools.
Object Marker:
Object markers appear on images when selections are made on images. The
selections appear at the center point (center of gravity) of the traced or
drawn regions. The Size option can be set to increase or decrease the
size of the object markers except for the object number selection. Various
object marker options are available including numbers, bounding box full,
bounding box corners, circle on centroid, square on centroid, triangle on
centroid, and diamond on centroid. The bounding type markers only appear on
images that have been measured (see measure). The color can be adjusted by double
clicking on the color box, (in the Object Marker section) and then a dialog box
will come up allowing red, green and blues values or HSV values to be set.

Moving the R, G and B sliders will change the color in the Color
Selection widow. Click on Set when the color is correct. The Method
drop down box allows one to switch between RGB and HSV
The Filled check box when checked will file the chosen object marker
with a solid color, uncheck just an outline of the marker will be visible on
the image.
Only one linear Measurement selection check box, when checked, only
allows one linear measurement line to be left on an image. As soon as the next
measurement line is drawn the previous line disappears. When this option is
unchecked, all linear measurement lines (lines, curves and angles) will be left
on the image.
The Draw region markers on selections check box, when checked, will place object at the centroid of selections made with any of the selection tools.
Markings are not permanently marked on images. To permanently mark overlays on an image use the Duplication Display option.
