Northern Eclipse Help Reference

 Node Edit Tool

This tool is used to adjust the nodes of a selection.  A node is a control point on the selection that defines its path.  When this tool is turned on, the nodes are highlighted with circles.  You can always leave the node highlighting on by setting the appropriate option under the Selection Options page of the Eclipse Options Dialog.

By clicking and dragging on one of the circles, you change the path of the selection.  The above selection was created with the Polygon Tool. The nodes correspond to the mouse clicks made when the tool was used.  A selection created by the trace tool typically has many more points.  The circle and square tool have 4 nodes each.  You can move the entire selection as a group by using the Pointer Tool.  You can also duplicate the last selection made on an image by using the Duplicate Tool.
