| Dr. M.C. Heath from the University of Toronto, Botany Dept. preformed the following experiments using a VCR, Hamamatsu CCD, and compound microscope setup for nomarski. Northern Eclipse was then used to digitally capture a time sequence from the VCR. The experiments demonstrate cowpea plant epidermal cells undergoing different stages of a programmed cell death, after invasion by a pathogenic fungus.
