Northern Eclipse Help Reference

 Snap

This function allows you to get a new frame of image data from an acquisition device.  This function works with analog or digital cameras.  Every acquisition device must support at least this command.  If you have the NULL device selected, this command will not be enabled.

When you select this function, Eclipse attempts to capture one frame from the current acquisition device (as selected on the Acquire Options property page of the Eclipse Options Dialog).

If the “Snap new Images into current Image Window” option is selected then Eclipse will attempt to use the current image window as the destination for the frame if it has the same dimensions and has the same image type as the incoming frame.  Otherwise it will create a new window to store the incoming frame.  This option can be found on the Image Options property page of the Eclipse Options Dialog.

Once Snap has completed, the image can be further processed or saved.
